Alexandra Derwen ((Wales, UK)
je básnířka, poutnice, průvodkyně na konci života (death doula), provází po světě výcviky v oblasti umírání a rituálů. Je autorkou 3 knih Ztracené rituály (Lost Rites) a tvůrkyní ceremonií od osobních po systémové. Je "keenerka" – nositelka nářku – a čerpá z rodových tradic, vedená spojenci ze světa za světem. Je intuitivní a zkušená facilitátorka.

Tuomas Rounakari (FI)
je mezinárodně uznávaný houslista, skladatel, etnomuzikolog a pedagog. Jeho záběr sahá od avantgardní improvizace přes folk metal (mj. bývalý člen kapely Korpiklaani) až po filmovou hudbu. Ve své dizertaci (Univerzita umění v Helsinkách, 2024) zkoumá změněné stavy vědomí a komunikaci s "více-než-lidským" skrze hudbu. Soustředí se přitom na medvědí slavnosti ve Finsku, Karélii a u sibiřských národů Chantů a Mansů, s nimiž dvě desetiletí úzce spolupracuje.

CO JE TO LAMENT
Lament je hudební výraz, který nese emoce – propojuje melodii, poezii a přirozené slzy. Slzy nejsou vynucené – jsou osvobozené, protože nářky vytváříme z témat, která v nás už teď nesou silný emocionální náboj. Nářek můžeme vytvořit z čehokoli, co nás přivádí k pláči.
Nářek je neoddělitelný od přechodových rituálů. Tradičně se vyskytoval při smrti, ale i při svatbě – v obou případech komunita ztrácí někoho ve své původní podobě, a dochází tedy k mnoha současným proměnám. Aby mohlo něco nového vzniknout, musí něco starého odejít. Aby člověk mohl projít proměnou, komunita musí jeho proměnu také přijmout. K tomu vždy sloužily specifické rituální nářky – aby zajistily bezpečný přechod přes bouřlivé vody změny.
Nářek se používá i mimo veřejné rituály – například k uzdravení traumatu, uvolnění emoční zátěže či nalezení nového pohledu na složité životní situace.

Alexandra Derwen ((Wales, UK)
is a poet, a pilgrim, a psychopomp and death doula, founder of a social enterprise that offers Death Doula preparation courses globally. Alexandra is the author of 3 books on the topic of Death Rites and Ceremony called Lost Rites. Through the Lost Rites body of work Alexandra tracks and makes accessible the necessary rituals and ceremony for Death, both literal and metaphorical, from the personal to the collective to the systemic. Alexandra is a keener and lamenter, channelling their ancestral traditions and guided by allies in the More-Than-Human realms. Alexandra is a master (or should we say "servant") of ceremony, a creative and deeply skilled and intuitive facilitator of groups.

Tuomas Rounakari (FI)
Tuomas is an internationally acclaimed violinist, composer, ethnomusicologist and educator. He is a versatile musician ranging from avantgarde improvisation to folk metal, from contemporary classical music compositions to film scoring and sound design. Tuomas is also a former member of internationally acclaimed Finnish folk metal band Korpiklaani.
Tuomas' Doctorate of Arts thesis (University of Arts in Helsinki 2024) discusses altered states of consciousness and the ability to engage in dialogue with the More-Than-Human through music. The case study in his thesis centres around the Bear Feast traditions of Finland, Karelia and the indigenous Khanty and Mansi people in Siberia, with whom he has closely collaborated for two decades.

WHAT IS LAMENT
Lament is musical expression carried by emotion; combining melody, poetry and natural tears. The crying is not forced but liberated as we craft laments from topics that already have a strong emotional charge. We can craft laments from anything we know makes us cry.
Lament and Rites of Passage are intrinsically interwoven. Traditionally, of course, at Death but also, for example, at Marriage. At both these thresholds the community faces the loss of a member and, as such, there are multiple Rites of Passage happening at the same time. For all things born anew there must first be a death; for all things gained require first a letting go; as the individual transcends in their moment of transformation, so the community must also process the change in state. Traditionally specific ritual laments took place in order to ensure a safe and healthy passage through the turbulence of transition.
Laments are also used outside of communal ceremony. All of us live through the cycles and seasons of personal rites of passage and lament has been used to assist in these times as well; for example recovering from trauma, releasing emotional burdens and gaining new perspectives to difficult situations.
