Unlock the world of crochet with our Intro to Crochet Series! Whether you're a complete beginner or want to sharpen your skills, our four-part course will take you from fundamentals to crafting beautiful creations.
*Supplies are not included, please see recommended supplies below.*
We will learn:
-Hook sizes, types and differences
-Yarn type & weight (And why hook size and yarn weight are important for the outcome of a project)
-How to get the proper tension while working
-How to read and understand basic patterns
-How to make a slip stitch & magic circle
-Basic stitches like single crochet (sc) half double crochet (hdc), double crochet (dc)
-More advanced stitches like shell or puff stitches
-How to make granny squares and other basic projects
-How to take on your dream project & feel confident making your own pieces
Materials recommended for beginners:
-Medium weight cotton yarn (sugar & cream, peaches & cream or other store brands work great) but any yarn of your choosing is fine
-Multiple size hooks (if you can only get 1, start with a G or H hook (4.5mm-5mm)
*metal hooks recommended - Clover is a good brand as they have comfort handles
-Yarn needle
-Small scissors (such as sewing scissors)
-Stitch markers are very helpful but not always necessary. They can be a great little tool for beginners
(Bonus materials to have on hand: a ruler or cloth tape measurer)
