Author Talk with Juliet Cutler
Join local author Juliet Cutler at the Chattahoochee Hills Library for a presentation and open Q&A about her new book Lessons in Hope: A New Era for Maasai Women in Tanzania.
Juliet’s new book features the stories and portraits of more than twenty Maasai women from northern Tanzania who have overcome deep poverty, gender-based violence, and limited access to education. As graduates of the first secondary school for Maasai girls in East Africa, these women have gone on to become educators, healthcare providers, entrepreneurs, public servants, and advocates for women’s rights—transforming not only their own lives, but also their communities.
Written in partnership with Tanzanian contributors and the nonprofit organization Operation Bootstrap Africa, Lessons in Hope shines a light on the barriers girls continue to face globally and the extraordinary power of education to create lasting change.
Books will be available for purchase at the event, with proceeds supporting scholarships for Maasai girls through Operation Bootstrap Africa. If you would like to make an additional gift, a donation link is included below.
Come be part of an inspiring afternoon of learning and conversation.
