Palm Bay Charter Review Committee – First Organizational Meeting

Palm Bay’s Charter Review Commission begins its work to update the city’s governing document! Join the first organizational meeting where the commission will review procedures, select leadership, receive a Sunshine Law and Public Records Act overview, and set priorities for future meetings.

Highlights:

Overview of CRC Rules of Procedure

Election of Chair and Vice-Chair

Discussion of topics: council vacancy procedures, candidate eligibility, voting districts, supermajority requirements for terminating charter officers, 3% cap removal, possible Auditor/Inspector General position

Agenda/timetable planning

The CRC will meet regularly through May 2026 to research, discuss, and recommend charter changes for possible future ballot placement. Residents are invited to attend and share input in shaping the future of Palm Bay’s government!
