Great Lakes Navy Base Recruits Arrival at Post 690

The Adopt a Sailor program is returning this year! The program, in existence since World War II, offers the opportunity to adopt recruits for the day. On Thanksgiving Day, Post 690 will be welcoming recruits from the Great Lakes Naval Training Center. During their 3-month period, they undergo rigorous training with strict discipline and for some it’s their first time away from home. Their “Day of Thanks” will include an afternoon of games, calling home, a Homemade Thanksgiving Feast and much more!
