Skirlies Cafe Paisley is the venue for the launch of Steven Veerapen’s new book, Witches – A King’s Obsession.
The event, by Abbey Books Paisley West End, takes place on Wednesday 1st October. You are invited to “dive into a world of magic and mystery”.
The book explores the history of witchcraft, witch-hunts, and the King James VI and I's obsession with them, from the late 16th to early 18th centuries. The book delves into the motivations behind widespread belief in demonic witchcraft, the causes of mass witch-hunts, and the eventual decline of the phenomenon.
