Take the Tram to hear the Marines' Story

Take a guided tour of former US Marines' Camp Russell on a restored Wellington Tram. Ride the tram 4km to Whareroa Beach whilst a Kapiti US Marines Trust historian tells you the stories of 15,000 young Americans who trained and recovered here during WWII. You will see the memorial, restored hut, and the beach to learn about the amphibious boat landings, training and tragedy.

$12 adults, $6 children, $30 family
Good dogs on leads are welcome too.
Event is part of Wellington Heritage Festival
Trams depart every 30 mins between 11am and 4pm (last service at 3.30pm)
