About the event

Lino-printing Koanga (Spring) Workshop - Pop-up Parlour 2025
Join us for a fun-filled morning of creativity at Pukerua Bay Hub's Pop-up Parlour as we explore Māori design motifs using Lino-cut prints developed with artist Trixie Andrew.
Afternoon Tea provided. No experience needed.

The lino-cut prints will be provided with different design motifs and we will guide you through the process of printing your own items (clothing, bags, cards etc.) and creating your own small lino-cut to keep as well. Different kinds of paper stock will be available.

Māori design motifs are rich in symbolism and storytelling. These visually rich motifs are used in carving, weaving, and tattooing to convey cultural knowledge, history, and spiritual beliefs. These motifs are not just decorative; they are a vital part of Māori culture and identity. We will be exploring Koanga (Spring) for this session.
