Sydney Candlemaking & Perfumery Masterclass - The Raconteur

If you ever wanted to understand key elements of how to structure a fragrance between top, middle and base notes and how these come together to make a truly great scented candle, then this is the class for you.

One of Australia’s leading perfumers and candlemakers, Craig Andrade (aka the creative force behind The Raconteur) will guide you through the basics of candle making as you make your own scented candle with one of his custom fragrances.

In the class you’ll learn about:

- different waxes and wicks

- the importance of temperature control when melting wax as well as environmental conditions when pouring candles

- the importance of vessel raw material in candle performance

- history of perfumery and techniques of extracting essential oils from plants

- key olfactive families in fragrances

- how to structure and blend a fragrance

You’ll be making your own candle and all materials will be supplied to make the candle.

Drinks and refreshments will be provided in the Embassy’s private scent garden.
