Journey through time with Ozark Origins, a community storytelling series hosted by Ozark Historic River District. Gather ’round as neighbors, historians, and local artists unpack the legends that echo through these hollers and hills-tales of grit, justice, and the enduring spirit of a tight-knit community.

The series begins with the most infamous tale of all, the story of the Baldknobbers.

Born out of post-Civil War chaos explore the tales of the vigilante group whose reign was feared by outlaws and citizens alike. The Baldknobbers left a legacy and controversy that still stirs debate in the Ozarks today.
