FIFTH SUNDAY AT FIVE Organ Recitals continue at Saint Augustine's House, Oxford, Michigan, on Sunday, August 31, 5 P.M.
The recitalist is Daniel John Susan, organist at St. Augustine's House. He previously served parishes and schools in Arkansas, Texas, Arizona, and Michigan. Noted for the broad range of music in the liturgy, with highly participatory congregations, he balanced his love of Gregorian Chant and the music of Taize to form a broad repertoire for the communities he served. Daniel's playing reflects his jazz experience as well as his love of historically informed performance of older music. His teachers include Craig Chotard, Robert Ellis, Lenora McCroskey, and Marie-Madeleine Duruflé.
The program includes:
Trio Sonata in E-Flat, No. 1, BWV 525, J.S. Bach.
Concerto in A Minor, No. 2, mvt. 1, Vivaldi-Bach.
Three Elevations, Op 32, Marcel Dupré.
Two Chorales, Jehan Alain.
The program will conclude with the singing of a hymn.
The organ is by Wigton Pipe Organs and was originally built by Berghaus. See more info here:

Please know that the building is not air-conditioned. Dress comfortably. A reception will follow in an air conditioned space!
We are located on a hilly, "Natural Beauty Road" which means it is dirt. While it is ordinarily quite passible with only a few potholes to dodge, after prolonged rain it can demand even slower speeds. Allow a little extra time for travel.
