This immersive three-day workshop welcomes both beginners and experienced artists to explore and deepen their encaustic practice.
On Day 1, Amelia introduces the fundamentals—encaustic history, essential tools, and hands-on basics like layering molten beeswax and pigments. You'll learn about colour mixing, transparency, opacity, and techniques such as incising and scraping.
Day 2 focuses on intermediate methods: adding texture, embedding lightweight papers, using stencils, PanPastels, pigment sticks, and image transfers. Discussions and critiques will help you refine your work.
On the final day, advance your skills with techniques like using a stylus, foil and Saral paper transfers, Stabilo pencils, gold leaf, India ink, and embedding heavier objects. Amelia offers personalized support as you express your unique artistic voice.
The workshop includes access to a fully equipped studio, premium encaustic supplies, and individual guidance—an inspiring, skill-building experience for all levels.
Cost: $750 - Preregistration Required.
