Syyskauden alkuun swingolaiset saavat kovan tason lindy hop -osaamista Tampereelta. Aleksis Nokso-Koivisto ja Kornélia “Nelli” Mangi tulevat Ouluun ja tuovat mukanaan uusia raikkaita näkökulmia tanssimiseen.
Lindy Groove Oulu -työpajassa keskitytään tanssin ytimeen ja iloon. Kurssilla saamme uutta potkua kuvioihin, pääsemme kehittämään vientiä ja seuraamista sekä parantamaan henkilökohtaista tekniikkaa. Tavoitteena on löytää lindy hopille ominainen ”groove” ja svengaava liike rytmiharjoitusten kautta.
Työpajassa tanssitaan paljon ja opetellaan perusasioita, kuten rytmin käyttöä ja kehonhallintaa. Kurssilla opetellaan myös varioitavia liikkeitä ja tutustutaan yhdessä tanssimisen periaatteisiin.
Nelli ja Aleksis korostavat, että aito lindy hop on rytmistä, parin kanssa musiikkiin tanssimista ja hauskanpitoa. He keskittyvät perusasioihin, kuten rytmiikkaan ja parin kanssa kommunikointiin, vaikka liikkeitäkin on luvassa. Tunnit ovat iloisia ja kannustavat jokaista löytämään oman, parhaan tanssityylinsä sen sijaan, että pyrittäisiin “yhteen oikeaan" tapaan.
Tämä työpaja auttaa tanssijoita kehittymään ja yhdistämään teknisen taidon iloiseen, svengaavaan lindy hopiin!
Kurssi koostuu kolmen tunnin avoimesta osiosta, jonka jälkeen keski-edistyneet jatkavat vielä vaativampiin sisältöihin. Avoimeen osioon voi osallistua, jos on perustaidot lindy hopista ja vähintään vuoden kokemus lajista. Keski-edistyneisiin voivat osallistua vähintään kolme vuotta lindyä tanssineet, jotka haluavat kehittää omaa tanssiaan aktiivisesti. Päivä muodostaa opetuksellisen jatkumon avoimen tason tunneista keski-edistyneiden tunteihin.
Kurssin pääasiallinen opetuskieli on englanti.

Kornélia “Nelli” Mangi and Aleksis Nokso-Koivisto are hosting a lindy hop workshop in Oulu on September 13th, focusing on the core and joy of the dance. The course will include lindy hop moves, developing leading and following, and improving personal technique. The goal is to find that groovy, swinging movement through rhythm exercises.
The workshop will involve lots of dancing, teaching fundamentals like rhythm usage and body control. Participants will also learn versatile moves and explore the principles of dancing together.
Nelli and Aleksis emphasize that authentic lindy hop is about rhythmic dancing with a partner to music while having fun. They focus on fundamentals such as rhythm and partner communication, though moves will also be taught. The Sessions aim to be joyful and encourage everyone to find their own best dancing style, rather than adhering to “one correct" way.
This workshop will help dancers improve and combine their skills with joyful, swinging lindy hop..
The course consists of a three-hour open section, followed by an additional two-hour challenge for intermediate-advanced dancers. The open section is suitable for those with basic lindy hop skills who have been dancing for at least one year. Dancers with at least three years of lindy hop experience can participate in the intermediate-advanced section. The day forms an educational progression, from the open-level classes to the intermediate-advanced sessions.
The main language of instruction for the course is English.
