New Year's Day

Volunteers would love to meet you on New Year’s Day between 1pm and 3pm.

If you want to get out of the house after the Christmas festivities, why not enjoy a walk around Llanymynech Heritage Area and purchase a hot drink at the Canal Wharf and have a chat about the wonderful George Watson Buck?

Volunteers will be starting 2026 as they mean to go on – fundraising for the upkeep and refurbishment of their wheelchair accessible boat, the George Watson Buck.

They are aiming to refurbish the boat at the end of 2026 and are looking for any local businesses or individuals who would like to consider raising funds or carrying out some of the rennovations.

In 2026 the boat will be about 30 years old and volunteers think they will need to spend at least £10,000 to keep her ship shape for future generations.
