Step into centuries of history and mystery at Chirk Mill, where we invite you to explore one of Wales’ most atmospheric paranormal venues.
With origins dating back to around 1300, Chirk Mill has witnessed countless chapters of life—from its early days as a medieval mill, through Tudor and Elizabethan transformations, to major expansions in the 1700s. Remnants of each era linger in its stone walls, ancient timbers, and the original cellar and wheel room that still stand today.
Once powered by an overshot waterwheel and later repurposed as a warehouse for animal feed, the mill has accumulated layers of history and the presence of spirits from its storied past. Unexplained activity has been reported throughout the building—including sightings of child spirits believed to roam the floors of this centuries-old structure. The site even includes the footprint of a Queen Anne house that once stood behind the mill, tragically lost to fire in the 1930s.
Chirk Mill has become renowned for its range of mysterious phenomena. Guests have experienced disembodied voices echoing through the mill and the unmistakable sound of children’s footsteps running across the wooden floors. These eerie occurrences add to the charged atmosphere and keep curiosity alive for those who dare to explore.
During our ghost hunt, you’ll join an intimate group of just 12 guests, with exclusive access to five fascinating floors, including the atmospheric attic and cellar. The event will be led by Jo, a talented and experienced medium, guiding the group in using both modern equipment and traditional methods to communicate with the spirits believed to dwell within the mill’s historic walls. Whether you’re an experienced investigator or simply curious, Chirk Mill’s quiet rural setting, original features, and echoes of the past promise an unforgettable night of paranormal exploration.
Are you brave enough to discover what secrets Chirk Mill may reveal after dark?
