Managing the Freshwater Fisheries of Florida: Past and Present
Florida is home to incredibly diverse freshwater ecosystems that occupy more than 1.5 million acres of lakes and rivers throughout the state. The management of these freshwater fishery resources for their own well-being and the for the benefit of people has been the focus of state fish and wildlife management agencies for decades. While many management strategies have remained unchanged, new research and additional challenges fuel the development of new management tools.
