Oslo Flaneur Festival (O.F.F.) 2025 presents:
TRIBE – BECAUSE – LARS CUZNER
Full program: www.flaneurfestival.no
TRIBE is a tribe without a cause. You learn nothing — not even why.
You are born into a tribe with a cause. Sometimes you get tired of that cause, and sometimes it’s the tribe you can’t handle. But you need a tribe. The longest research project in human history is on longevity; it continually concludes that belonging to a tribe — any tribe — makes you live longer.
Rapid individualism has not come without some serious side effects, and as we creep towards increased dependency on AI, things are going to get more impersonal, and information is going to get real funny. With that said, that is not the cause of TRIBE either. You can have that opinion, you can have any opinion — just not here. Believe whatever you believe, but don’t spread it here.
This is a religion, about having a tribe without a cause. No cause whatsoever — not even the promotion of a no-cause. It’s simply a be-cause.
It is probably necessary to mention that this is not about omnism, koan-based Zen Buddhism, Bahá’í, or epoché either. It’s not a safe space and it’s not a sanctuary; it’s not about acceptance, enlightenment or rejection — it’s just tribe for tribe’s sake. The religion is Because.
We are registering an NRM (new religious movement) – in Norwegian: nytt trossamfunn. Only for those who want to. It will be organized, protected against corruption and attempts to make it be about a cause.
At our first meeting, we will walk around and look for our first space to rent, which, in the beginning, really only needs to cover four days’ rent a month. It’s a thrilling thing to do in the city where you live — walk around and see what spaces aren’t being used — we’ll do that first. If it turns into something we prioritize, something we find ourselves just showing up for, we will scale it appropriately.
There will be no binding commitments, but there will have to be some basic rules:
It’s a part of society; all the same laws apply.
No opinions, beliefs, or convictions.
Date: 29.06.2025 and every Sunday after that
Adresse: Losæter, Kongshavnveien, Bjørvika, Oslo
