Dette verkstedet i plantefarging vil demonstrere teknikker for å farge og gi tekstiler ulike fargenyanser. Med tradisjonelle og bærekraftige metoder. Å kunne farge med planter kan sees på som en del av en selvforsyningspraksis. Farger spiller en viktig rolle i livene våre – de fremkaller følelser, skaper minner og glede.
På verkstedet tar vi i bruk en svartelistet plante: gullris. Å bruke denne planten har mange fordeler – den er ikke giftig, ikke allergifremkallende og gir en vakker gyllen farge som minner oss om solen i vintersesongen. Grunnen til at den er svartelistet er at den sprer seg svært raskt og undertrykker andre arter. Derfor vil innsamling og bruk av planten bidra til å dempe spredningen.
Under verkstedet vil Anastasya Kizilova demonstrere to faser av plantefargingsprosessen: beisemiddelbehandling og farging. Deltakerne vil lære å farge ullgarn i en gyllen nyanse og skape et varig minne fra denne høsten.

Workshopen varer i ca 3,5 time, med 1,5 time til å fortsette på egenhånd, eller oppholde seg i hagen og bakehuset på Losæter.

Anastasya Kizilova er en deltakerbasert kunstner, kunstpedagog og formidler med spesialkompetanse innen tekstile og taktile kunst- og designformer.
Anastasya legger særlig vekt på å skape trygge, samskapende rom der metodene formes ut fra deltakeres ulike behov. Hun arrangerer en serie verksteder hvor både frivillige og deltakere deltar i taktil undersøkelse av historiske kostymer, og deler sine perspektiver og ønsker for utviklingen av et inkluderende sosialt miljø.

The natural plant dye workshop demonstrates techniques for dyeing and coloring fabrics. The method is closely connected with sustainability and self-sufficiency. Color plays an important role in our lives — emotional, memorable, and joyful.
For the workshop, we will use a blacklisted plant: goldenrod. This plant has many great qualities—it is non-toxic, non-allergenic, and gives a beautiful golden color that reminds us of the sun during the winter season. However, the plant spreads extremely fast and suppresses other species. Thus, harvesting and using the plant will help control its spread.
During the workshop, Anastasya Kizilova will demonstrate two phases of the plant dyeing process: mordant treatment and dyeing. Participants will learn how to dye wool yarn in a golden color, creating a lasting memory of this autumn.

The workshop lasts about 3.5 hours, with an additional 1.5 hours to continue on your own, or to spend time in the garden and bakehouse at Losæter.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Anastasya Kizilova is a participatory artist, art educator, and facilitator with specialized expertise in textile and tactile art and design practices.
Anastasya places particular emphasis on creating safe, co-creative spaces where methods are shaped according to participants’ diverse needs. She organizes a series of workshops in which both volunteers and participants engage in tactile exploration of historical costumes, sharing their perspectives and wishes for the development of an inclusive social environment.
