At the heart of Oslo, we envision a vibrant celebration of rhythm, culture, and connection — a festival where the pulse of the Afro-Latin diaspora unites dancers, musicians, and lovers of movement from around the world.
The Oslo Afro Arts Festival: Salsa, Bachata & Kizomba Edition is a dynamic cultural gathering rooted in the power of dance and live music to transcend borders and bring communities together. Our vision is to create a world-class festival that transforms Oslo into a global dance capital for one unforgettable weekend filled with passion, learning, and joy.
We aspire to:
- Ignite Movement through a rich program of dance workshops in
Salsa (including Cuban & NY styles), Bachata (Dominican &
Sensual), Kizomba, Semba, Urban Kizz, Afrohouse, Brazilian
Zouk, Samba, and other Afro-diasporic dance forms. Led by
internationally renowned instructors and rising local talents,
these workshops offer inclusive spaces for all levels to grow and
connect.
- Celebrate Cultural Roots by honoring the histories, rhythms, and
stories behind each dance style. Through performances,
discussions, and community engagement, we aim to deepen
understanding and appreciation for the diverse cultures that
have shaped Afro-Latin and Afro-Caribbean dances.
- Ignite the Night with exhilarating live music from top-tier Salsa,
Kizomba, and Afro-Latin bands, alongside renowned DJs
spinning irresistible beats. From social dancing to concerts,
every night will be an explosion of sound, energy, and
togetherness.
- Foster Connection by creating a warm, welcoming, and
inclusive atmosphere where dancers and music lovers of all
backgrounds come together to share, learn, and grow. Whether
you're a beginner or a seasoned dancer, there's a place for you
here.
- Elevate Oslo as a cultural hub for Afro-Latin and Afro-diasporic
arts, fostering year-round growth and visibility for these vibrant
communities in Norway and beyond.
