Juan Atkins (63 år) er en amerikansk DJ og produsent, ofte kalt “gudfaren av techno”. Han var en del av The Belleville Three sammen med Derrick May og Kevin Saunderson, som regnes som grunnleggerne av Detroit-techno. På starten av 1980-tallet dannet han gruppen Cybotron, kjent for tidlige elektroniske klassikere som Clear og Techno City. Senere startet han soloprosjektet Model 500 og plateselskapet Metroplex, hvor han utviklet den futuristiske og maskinelle sounden som definerte techno globalt.
