Hver sesong inviterer Black Box teater kunstneren Maritea Dæhlin til å kuratere og lede frokostsamtaler med inviterte gjester. Vi serverer enkel frokost, kaffe og te, og inviterer publikum til å ta del i samtalen. Denne gangen har Maritea Dæhlin invitert Ahmed Umar.

● Ahmed Umar er en tverrfaglig kunstner og LHBT-aktivist som bor og arbeider i Oslo. Han tok sin mastergrad i medium- og materialbasert kunst fra Kunsthøgskolen i Oslo i 2016. Gjennom kunsten sin har Umar også vært en viktig frontfigur for skeive personer med muslimsk bakgrunn i Norge og Sudan. Umar er kjent for å utforske identitet, kultur, religion og skeivhet gjennom ulike medier som keramikk, tekstiler, performance og installasjoner.
● Maritea Dæhlin er en kunstner som jobber og bor i Norge og Mexico. Arbeidene hennes spenner fra teater, video performance, performancekunst, lydkunst og scenetekst. Kunstnerskapet hennes er preget av det flerspråklige, ikke-lineære og til tider absurde. Dæhlin var tidligere assosiert kunstner ved Black Box teater (2021–2022).
Breakfast conversation with Maritea Dæhlin and Ahmed Umar
Each season, Black Box teater invites the artist Maritea Dæhlin to curate and host breakfast conversations with invited guests. We serve a light breakfast, coffee and tea, and invite the audience to take part in the conversation. This time, Maritea Dæhlin has invited Ahmed Umar.
The conversation will be held in English. Free admission
● Ahmed Umar is a multidisciplinary artist and LGBTQ+ activist living and working in Oslo. He earned his Master’s degree in Medium- and Material-Based Art from the Oslo National Academy of the Arts (KHiO) in 2016. Through his art, Umar has also been a prominent figure for queer individuals with Muslim backgrounds in Norway and Sudan. Umar is known for exploring identity, culture, religion, and queerness through various media such as ceramics, textiles, performance, and installations.
● Maritea Dæhlin is an artist who works and lives in Norway and Mexico. Her work spans theatre, video performance, performance art, sound art, and stage text. Her artistic practice is characterized by multilingualism, non-linearity, and at times absurdity. Dæhlin was previously an associate artist at Black Box teater (2021–2022
