Step into the world of clown with American Gaulier-trained performer Darius Emadi!
Over six weeks you’ll:
✨ Learn to listen to the audience and find the laugh
✨ Discover your own unique ridiculousness
✨ Transform failure into joy
✨ Play, improvise, and co-create with others
Through games and exercises, you’ll explore the fundamentals of clowning and finish with an original piece of your own, ready for the stage.

About the teacher:
Darius Emadi is a dynamic American clown, theatre-maker, and physical performer from New York City. A graduate of the prestigious École Philippe Gaulier in France (2016–2018), Darius developed his unique comedic voice under the direct guidance of Philippe Gaulier, joining the ranks of notable alumni such as Sacha Baron Cohen, Phil Burgers (Dr. Brown), and Viggo Venn.
Known for his energetic, anarchic style and ability to create deeply playful, emotionally resonant performances, Darius has performed and taught across Europe, the UK, the US, and Australia. His work has appeared at major festivals including Edinburgh Fringe, Adelaide Fringe, Brighton Fringe, Norway Clown Festival, Oslo Humorfest, Tampere Clown Festival, and Off-Hedda. He has performed in cities such as Paris, London, Oslo, Brighton, Atlanta, New York City, and is currently touring his solo clown show MIXTAPE, which will return to the international festival circuit in 2026.
