When survival becomes the daily task, creativity might seem like a luxury. Yet for Haneen Koraz and her fellow animators in Gaza, art has become a lifeline — a way to process fear, nurture joy, and build community amid destruction.
Through regular workshops, Haneen, Shorouq Ahmad and Nour Al-Jawad have been teaching children the art of animation. Using simple tools, the children create short films that tell stories of everyday life — of danger, humour, friendship, and imagination. Each film is a small act of resistance, created under the most difficult conditions: proof that creativity endures even when everything else is stripped away.
Over the past two years, these animations have been shared on Instagram and are available at @animator_haneen. All proceeds from Art in the Rubble go directly to supporting the animation workshops in Gaza. Your contribution helps Haneen and her team continue offering children the chance to learn, create, and share their stories with the world.
