SP Open 2025 — The WTA Open in the Largest City in the Americas
A New Chapter for Women's Tennis in Brazil
It all happens here.
In the city that never plays small, women's tennis gains a stage, power, and prominence.
From September 6 to 14, 2025, Parque Villa-Lobos will host the first edition of the SP Open — a WTA 250 played on hard courts, marking São Paulo's return to the official WTA calendar after 25 years.
It's the largest WTA Open in Brazil since 2016. And the most important in the city of São Paulo since 2000.
In total, there will be 32 players in the main draw and 16 doubles teams. Alongside this, there will be an arena set up amidst lush greenery, sponsor activations, gastronomy, experiences, and much more.
As Alan Adler, CEO of IMM, summarizes:
"We've always wanted to promote a high-level women's competition. Now, thanks to the support of the City Hall and important brands, we're going to make that dream come true. Our ambition is to offer the public great matches, as well as quality leisure and entertainment."
The SP Open isn't just a tournament.
It's the court, the city, and a narrative that's now theirs.
The SP Open is a tournament of the WTA 250 category, played in hard and outdoors, exclusively with professional tennis players of the women's circuit.
The 2025 edition marks the return of the city of São Paulo to the official calendar of the WTA after 25 years. With a main key of 32 players, 16 tennis players in qualifying and 16 doubles, the event promises high-level matches and presence of national and international athletes.
