This will be a great opportunity for anyone that trains using reinforcement methods. Anything from food, toy, and personal play reward methods will be discussed and coached. Things like shaping and luring as well as reward delivery, capping, and fading rewards will be discussed, illustrated, and coached through the weekend.
Reinforcement should be seen as both an event and a process. When doing so, you can mold reinforcement into what you need to help create more clarity, reliability, and efficiency in your training.
Both days will incorporate lecture pieces that will be important to understand for when we get to the active dog work.
Some key points of discussion and application will be:
Motivation Building
Reinforcement Selection Processes
Luring & Shaping
Playing In Prey
Reward Hierarchy
Insulation
Reward Placement & Delivery
Marker Systems
Reward Schedules
Because it’s a workshop format, it will be great for both beginners and advanced individuals. It will be a great space to work on beginner skill sets. If you are still learning about reinforcement based training techniques or for advanced individuals looking to problem solve areas of their training . This is especially a great opportunity for those that participate in competitive dog sports and/or working dog disciplines. Strengthening or cleaning up your reinforcement processes can really improve the performance of your dog in anything they do.
There will be space for 8 dog and handler teams in working spots. Spectator spaces will also be available.
