BIO

A former young prodigy, Chilvers began concertising professionally from the age of 12. As a composer-pianist, his insights are as intriguing as his enthusiasm and style of communication is infectious.

Chilvers has extensive concertising credits at venues all over the world, including Steinway Hall in London and Milan, Berlin, New York, Rio de Janeiro, India, the Jacqueline du Pre Recital Hall (Oxford University), and Glastonbury festival. He has also released several recordings on Spotify, while he has been interviewed on BBC Radio Berkshire, Radio Klassik Stephansdom (Vienna), Times Radio. Polyrhythm has had a decorative role in conventional mono-tempo music for centuries, but it’s potential as an art form –vast & rich– is practically untouched. Chilvers’ central pursuit for the last decade has been the creation of such multi-tempo piano music. To the untrained ear, the textures produced sound beautiful, fascinating, natural. For the attentive listener, a multi-dimensional musical world emerges.
