The turning point in this Lughnasadh season of the harvest, the autumn equinox is again a time when the day and night are of equal length. Occurring at some point between 20 – 23 September, it is known commonly by the Welsh/Brythonic Alban Elfed, pronouncedelved, meaning ‘light of autumn’. Celebrating the end of the grain harvest, it is the festival of Harvest Home.
The wheel turns and the embers glow,
The circle brings itself to a close.
Harvest comes in and fruits abound,
Pagans come from all around.
To look within, and without,
Embracing all, no room for doubt.
Now is the time to thank them all,
At last my kin, it is finally Fall!
Hunger is a problem every day in our community, and it's a tradition on Mabon / Autumn Equinox for giving to the poor. Please bring a non-perishable food item to donate.
Mabon / Autumn Equinox is a time to appreciate and give thanks to the Goddess for her bounty and to share in the joys of the harvest. Fall fruits, squash, gourds, pumpkins, grains, nut breads, vegetables. A magickal Mabon / Autumn Equinox beverage: hot apple cider.
Apple rules the heart, cider alone is a self-love potion. By spicing it with cinnamon, ruled by Jupiter and the Sun, we are in essence, ingesting the sunlight.
PARKING is directly across the street from the house. There is a small u-shaped street [Fern Circle}, parking is alongside both sides of the street staying at least 4 feet from driveways. Please be conscious that others will need to use the street as well. So, park accordingly! ALSO, BE AWARE that there needs to be room left for EMERGENCY VEHICLES to pass through. Also, you may park on Davis or the west side of Hampton {between Livingston & Robinson}.
