Edmar Castañeda Quartet

Latin Grammy-nominated harpist Edmar Castañeda flips the script on the jazz harp with a breathtaking technique and a sound that blends soul, swing and Latin rhythms into something extraordinary.

The Colombian-born harpist weaves bass lines with his left hand while his right hand crafts vibrant melodies and chords, creating the illusion of several instruments playing together in seamless harmony. Deeply influenced by the Joropo traditions of his Colombian heritage, he turns the harp into a virtuosic vessel.

Edmar has collaborated with jazz greats including Wynton Marsalis, Béla Fleck, Rickie Lee Jones and Marcus Miller.
