IDEAS For Us is an environmental nonprofit working to develop, fund, and scale environmental action projects around the world. Ocean Conservancy is a nonprofit dedicated to protecting the ocean from today's greatest global challenges through science-based advocacy, research, and community engagement.
Together, we’re hosting a Clothing Swap Shop for local high school students to promote sustainable fashion and reduce textile waste. This event offers students the opportunity to trade gently used clothing and accessories, helping extend the life of garments and reduce the environmental footprint of fast fashion.
We'll also celebrate students who have already completed our Plastic Free Cities program by presenting them a certificate with their community service hours. Plastic Free Cities is an exciting new initiative in Orlando that connects local high school students with business owners to reduce single-use plastics in our community.
Why Swap? Each year, over 100 billion items of clothing are produced globally, but 92 million tons end up in landfills. Swapping clothes helps reduce waste, conserve resources, and support a circular economy.
