Supporting Our Friend Billy Lucas; A Story of Strength and Hope
Dear Friends and Supporters,
Some people light up a room with their presence. Others light up a life, illuminating your heart
with kindness, love, friendship, and generosity. He is one of the kindest souls you will ever
encounter. That’s Billy!
If you know him, you know that he feels most at peace with friends around him.
Being outdoors—walking among the trees, hiking a new trail, or just soaking in the quiet of
nature. Billy treasures the simple joys: time with friends, laughter that comes
easily, and the moments that make life rich and meaningful.
Life can change in an instant. One day, you're making plans for the weekend, and the next,
you’re trying to understand the news you never thought you’d hear. That’s what happened to our
Dear friend Billy. That’s why it’s so hard to share this news: Billy has been diagnosed with stage 4
rectal cancer. As of March 1, 2024. The cancer is inoperable, which means surgery isn’t an
option. There were many complications; he went into septic shock three times during his
surgeries and has had four surgeries. He was given a stoma, a hernia and large wound that has
been healing for over a year in a half. He has no spleen, which makes his treatment options
limited. Chemotherapy and radiation would shorten his life exponentially and reduce the quality of life.
The focus now is on treatment that can slow the disease down and give him more time to
enjoy the life he loves so much.
This journey has been incredibly difficult—emotionally, physically, and financially.
Treatments, medications, travel for care, and daily living expenses have become a growing
burden. And while Billy is facing this fight with extraordinary courage, it’s time
for us to step in and stand beside him in every way we can.
We’re hosting a benefit to raise funds that will go directly toward his medical
costs and daily needs. More than that, we’re coming together to remind Billy that he is not alone—that a community stands with him, filled
with love and hope. If you’re able to contribute, share this message, or simply keep Billy in your
thoughts and prayers, it means the world. Every act of kindness makes a difference, and every
dollar helps lighten the load.
