This presentation will be given at the Oriskany Museum on Wednesday, December 10, 2025 at 7:00 pm as a question and answer with members of the Trinkaus family about what it was like to work at the Manor, how the decorations came to be and what it was like to celebrate the holidays with their community.
Trinkaus Manor first opened in 1946 on Route 69 in Oriskany. It was run by four brothers - Anthony, Stanley, William, and Andrew Trinkaus - all returning World War II veterans. The Manor quickly achieved a reputation of excellence, first for its food and then for its captivating holiday light displays. The restaurant was sold in 1989 and later succumbed to a fire in 1992. Though the building was lost, many of the decorations were saved and found a new home in Rome where they continue to enchant both locals and visitors.
