Follow Your Bromley Business Improvement DistrictINVESTING YOUR MONEY WHERE YOU CAN SEE RESULTS By working together, Your Bromley Business Improvement District will be able invest just over £3 million directly into improving Bromley over the next four years. Talking to businesses in the run up to the BID ballot helped us identify the actions that would mean most to our members. We are targeting four key areas: 1 Bromley Made Safer We are helping to increase feelings of safety and to reduce shoplifting and antisocial behaviour throughout the BID area. Your Bromley works with the Police and the Council to make sure we enhance (but don’t replace) the services they already provide. Examples of how we do it: – Running an Intelligence Sharing website; businesses can alert each other about shoplifters, pick pockets and anti social behaviour and can take preventative action. Providing an Ambassador service: welcoming and assisting visitors to Bromley and liaising directly with local businesses; they will also assist businesses upload images and incident reports. Our Parent and Child wristband scheme promotes Bromley businesses as a family friendly and safe place. 2 Bromley Made Smarter Improvements to the street environment are important to the perception of a town centre. Your Bromley has begun a programme of street improvements to enhance the town centre experience and encourage visitors to stay longer. Examples of how we do it: – Enhanced cleansing, jet-washing and chewing gum removal. Christmas lights and tree for the town centre. Ambassador reports to the council of environmental defects. 3 Bromley Made Prominent Bromley’s businesses need more customers and more spend. Your Bromley has developed a programme of events to promote the town centre and businesses. Examples of how we do it: – Major visitor events such as Wimbledon on the Big Screen, the Christmas lights switch on and parade event and a Food Fest trail of restaurants, bars and pubs offering taster menus. Summer Fest booklet promoting family friendly activities and special retail offers. Christmas Gift Guide. 4 Bromley Made for Business Keeping businesses up to date with events and activities, as well as sharing business data affecting town, helps businesses to get the most for their contribution. Examples of how we do it: – Quarterly networking events with guest speakers. Regular newsletters to businesses. Providing town centre wide footfall data to help businesses make informed decisions.
