Community Sing: Surviving Protest Through Music is a workshop for all whether they can sing or not sing. Yasmeen has developed sound parts for so called non-singers . Be prepared to work . Wear loose clothing because we may even do movement. Most of all come prepared to feel loved and understood as we sing songs and live lives of protest regarding oppression felt by milions across the globe. We will be encouraged to consider how we replenish our lives while protestings, marching, holding sign, etc. We will be consider the thoughts and feelings behind protests and the messages we share. Will they get results or do they spread more dissention? What do we need as a solution and will be serve our. peace of mind while trying to assume a peaceful stance. the workshop presenters are known for creating peace among people for over 40 years. The. young have the energy and the old hae the wisdom. A room is incomplete without the input of both. We must have both before we can have a balanced conversation about societal solutions, human and civil rights, and young people knowing what to build upon what has worked already.
