Wallsend FC is a football team that currently competes in the NewFM Northern League One Division in Northern NSW. It is also one of the oldest clubs in the country, founded in the July of 1887. Originally, the club were named "Rovers," wearing red shirts with a white sash, white shorts and red/white socks. Humble beginnings saw Wallsend F.C. play its home games at Wallsend Reserve without much fanfare. Today, 130 years later, the club can confide in the extended success it has witnessed down the years; and the many people the club has affected in a positive way. The club now plays at the former home-ground of the Newcastle Breakers, The Gardens Sporting Complex.
