The Urban Indigenous Collective defines Urban Native as an Indigenous person of the North, Central, and South Americas, Caribbean and Pacific Islands who is living in an urban area.UIC envisions a world where Indigenous rights and sovereignty are acknowledged and respected, we envision consultation as protocol practiced and consent is continuously obtained. Through acknowledgement and respect, we envision a world where the gap of health inequalities no longer hold back our Urban Natives. We see a world of Urban Natives with access to culturally appropriate resources to support, heal and live healthy lives.
