Texas-bred.United Heritage opened its doors in 1957 as Military Federal Credit Union, offering military personnel savings and loan services. In 1969, our name changed to Bergstrom Federal Credit Union and we expanded our service offerings and increased our overall membership base. By 1993, the Credit Union was given the opportunity to expand our membership base to include hospitals and hospital affiliates, along with select employer groups, allowing us to grow into United Heritage Federal Credit Union. Changing from a federal charter to a state charter in 1997, we’re now open to the Central Texas, Austin and Tyler communities, enabling us to help more people than ever.
