About Unadilla Motocross

Unadilla MX began in 1969 on land that was formerly a dairy farm. While motocross had a foothold in Europe after having started at the end of Would War II, it was not well known in America. But the potential was there. The original pro track began to be laid out towards the back of the facility but logistics soon made it clear that it would be less than an ideal location. Thus it was back to the drawing board and a course was laid out closer to the highway. That forward thinking continues to be appreciated today. Unadilla took off in popularity almost from the first event. Over the years, Unadilla has been home to the 250 USGP, the fall Trans-AMA and Trans-USA series, was the first track in the U.S. to hold the MX des Nations, and has hosted a round of the Pro Motocross Nationals for the last seventeen years. In 2000, “U-2” was unveiled. Part of “U-2” lays on what was originally planned as the pro track. A track with similar features to its big brother, it was and continues to be designed with amateur racers in mind and remains true to outdoor motocross with its long uphills and downhills, sweeper turns, and jumps. The racing season typically opens in May and runs through September. Located in the rolling hills of Central New York, Unadilla holds events for both dirt bikes and ATVs. For over four decades, racing at Unadilla continues to be some of the best of the season for both racers and spectators.
