Umoja equips young people to succeed in college and confidently claim their future. Umoja is a not for profit organization that was founded in 1997 and has a unique role in Chicago because of the comprehensive ways we support young people and the high schools they attend. Umoja is on-the-ground partner for schools across Chicago focused on ensuring every student graduates from high school ready for college and career success. Umoja achieves this by preparing teachers, staff and school leaders with the knowledge, skills and tools essential to increasing on-track and graduation rates, decreasing disciplinary infractions and increasing college enrollment.
