The UCL Grand Challenges were established in 2008 as a ground-breaking grassroots initiative. Since then we have grown into a flagship programme, central to UCL's vision as an institution that tackles issues of global concern. We work by facilitating cross-disciplinary and cross-boundary research, enabling colleagues across UCL to work with each other and with partners outside the university.
