Timothy Lee Petersen, 34, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, Aug. 4, following an accident on his motorcycle. He was born Sept. 16, 1980, in Cedar Falls, son of Steven and Debra Early Petersen. He married Katy Stock on June 11, 2005, at Concordia Lutheran Church, Waterloo. Tim graduated from Waterloo East High School in 1999 and then received his Police Science Degree from Hawkeye Community College. He was a member of the National Guard from 1999 until 2007, and had been employed as a Black Hawk County deputy sheriff since 2006. He also worked part time in security at UnityPoint Health-Allen Hospital. Proceeds from this benefit will go directly towards an education fund for his 5 year old son, Jax.
