The Streicker Center offers a broad array of programs to meet the passions and interests of our community, from traditional classes in Jewish history and studies to speeches by presidents (Barack Obama, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush), vice-presidents (Al Gore and Dick Cheney), Supreme Court justices (Ruth Bader Ginsburg, John Roberts, Elena Kagan, Stephen Breyer), Secretaries of State (Hillary Rodham Clinton, Madeleine Albright, Colin Powell) and First Ladies (Michelle Obama); evenings with comedians (Mel Brooks, Alex Edelman, Jerry Seinfeld); screenings and discussions with cast members/creative teams from TV shows on Netflix (Somebody Feed Phil, Shtisel, Woman in Gold) Apple TV (The Reluctant Traveler With Eugene Levy), Amazon (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel) and Hulu (We Were The Lucky Ones), discussions with cast members/creative teams from Broadway shows (Hamilton, The Band’s Visit, Funny Girl, Just For Us, Harmony, The Sign in Sidney Brustein’s Window, The Music Man); discussions with the nation’s leading journalists, activists, performers and writers (Anderson Cooper, Gayle King, Bill Gates, Cher, Don Lemon, Sheila Johnson, Frank Bruni, Jane Fonda, Liev Schreiber); and debates on the most challenging issues of the day. We attract around 70,000 people a year to our programs.
