The Short Kuts Show is a multimedia storytelling experience and narrative therapy (or "thairapy") initiative inspired by the oral narrative tale-telling, community info sharing, hair chair therapy (practiced, unofficially, by barbers/beauticians—the hair chair therapists) culture found in the Black community's barber/beauty shop sanctuary spaces, and the incredibly long legacy of Black music birthed in our communities and gifted to the globe--selecting our engagement’s storytelling themes, like all of our great DJ’s do, by digging through our record collections and digging up the songs with the phrases, poetry, and lyrics (and the music) that moves (and grooves) us to that next level!
