Follow The Pet Project MidwestThe Pet Project Midwest was founded in 2009 by a group of like-minded animal lovers who wanted to help animals (and people) in the community. Working together with existing organizations, they identified gaps in existing services and created programs that fill the gaps. IowaPetAlert.com was their first program; this free service helps reunite lost pets and their people quickly. The Pet Pantry is a temporary food assistance program that keeps loved pets in their homes and out of shelters. Paws for Life is a long-term version of the Pet Pantry available to our most vulnerable neighbors - the elderly and disabled whose pet companions are often their only family. AniMeals is a companion program to the human Meals on Wheels program operated in partnership with Wesley Life. In 2015 TPPM gave out more than 35000 pounds of pet food and shared 5644 postings of lost and found pets! And they did it with no paid employees!
