Follow The Hope Center Of 11Th StreetI arrived at the site about half an hour after its 1 P.M. kickoff. The weather was very cooperative, staying largely sunny and warm, but with regular breezes. Cars were parked along all the side streets near the event, with barriers blocking off a part of 11th St. I came with some edibles - 2 bags of fried pork rinds, 1 of tortilla chips, a jar of relish, and a pair of 2-liter soft drinks. I put those things on the beverage table at the end of the serving line, where there were already cups, some condiments, and gallon jugs filled with colored liquids. Then I had to go back to near the end of the block where I'd entered to join the line for food. A DJ was cranking music, tents lined the edges of the street, and the pavement was filled with a stage near the music man, along with tables and chairs or picnic benches on the pavement itself.
