Since 1968, HHAC, has enriched the Capital District with Cultural Arts programs based in the African Diaspora that increase self-esteem, develop healthy coping skills and tools for participants. Exposure to new cultural perspectives enables those who are not African Americans to increase cognitive flexibility, empathy and communication skills. We use the power of Art and Culture to create strong individuals while forging bonds that develop into strong families and healthy communities. Our mission is to promote the knowledge, preservation and continued development of African and African American culture and art, thereby enriching the quality of life in the community and throughout the Capital Region.
