The Friends of Wollongong City Library

The Aims of The Friends: To foster an interest in books To serve as a link between the library and the community To promote an appreciation and awareness of the library's services and its collections To sponsor special community events and literary activities designed to stimulate community interest  in reading and awareness of the role of the library in the community To provide support for the library and its collections through practical assistance, for example,  fundraising, the encouragement of gifts, sponsorships and endorsements To advocate and make representations for improvements in funding arrangements for public library  services To foster links with organisations with similar interests and objectives
