The Alternative Programs, Inc. (TAP) is an agency that provides alternatives to incarceration for, non-violent, adult and juvenile offenders on behalf of the 11th Judicial Circuit of Florida (Miami-Dade County). TAP was founded in 1982 and incorporated in 1986 by renowned civic icon and people's champion: Ms. Georgia Jones-Ayers along with retired Miami-Dade Senior Judge: Thomas K. Petersen. For over thirty years, TAP has changed the lives of tens of thousands of individuals, children and families through the provision of viable alternatives to criminal activity, while serving as a critical pressure-valve to jail overcrowding for the Criminal Justice System.
