Growing up in a single parent household, my life was anything but normal. I did not do well in school — I was the worst in every class and every sport. I had low self-confidence, not many friends and was always told I will not be able to accomplish much in life which I truly ended up believing. Things remained the same even when I was a teenager. I still had that same mindset. In high school, while other students were preparing for post-high school plans, I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life. I still carried that lack of confidence and self-limitations from my childhood. I graduated from high school in 2008 and immediately starting work full-time in retail. Within two years of working in retail, I was fired. I was sick and tired of being a letdown and wanted to make a better life for myself. What really motivated me to make this change was the positive results I was experiencing in the gym. I was gaining more muscle and becoming more fit. This was the first time in my life I realized that if I put in the hard work the results will come. At that point I told myself if I can work hard then I can get results anywhere. Finally, I decided it was time to return to school and take control of my life. Over the last few years, my mindset has significantly changed for the better. I have taken my experience as a child and teenager and used it as fuel for motivation to better myself. I am someone who believes in hard work ethic, always giving it your all, and having a strong desire and drive to reach your goals no matter what the obstacles are. I also believe in learning from failure and mistakes and using that to continuously assess yourself to grow and become a better person. I feel everyone should have this mindset and I want to help others discover it. With my experiences of success, learning, growth, failure, and self-improvement, my goal is to show others that they can use it to better themselves too. I have 3 plus years of Human Resources experience. I have a degree in Human Resources Management, and a Business Management Diploma. In order to best help you, I continuously read books every day and have read over 30 books in the last year. I do public speaking and create blog posts and videos on success, self-improvement, and life.
