Stephen May is a teacher, psychologist, certified therapist, and filmmaker with over forty years of experience in education and psychotherapy. His work centres on post-traumatic growth - normalising the experience of emotional struggle and helping people find, within it, an opportunity for greater wisdom and appreciation of life. He supports individuals, couples, families, educational institutions and big business. As the Director of the Institute for Story Guided Therapy & Mentoring, Stephen integrates insights from the Gottman Institute for Couples Therapy, the National Institute for the Clinical Application of Behavioural Medicine, and his own decades of narrative-based therapeutic practice. He has a couple of degrees from Oxford University and has taught there. But he has learned a lot more from his three kids and surviving being gently beaten-up by life on a regular basis.
