South Lake Artists Co-op (aka SLAC) is a scrappy, grassroots art collective based in Northwest Indiana and established in 2009. We’re a mix of painters, photographers, sculptors, sketchers, makers, musicians, and dreamers who believe art doesn’t have to be exclusive—or made in isolation. Our goal is to help artists dust off their worktables, get out of their basements (literal or metaphorical), and plug into something bigger: a creative community that shows up for each other.Completely volunteer-run, we host themed exhibitions, pop-up shows, community art nights, and collaborative projects, often out of our home base at Paul Henry’s Art Gallery in Hammond or collaborating with small local businesses.
